Human Rights Education

Building Conscious Leadership

WILD introduces human rights language and framework to shift the debate about inequalities to a  rights-based discourse. We emphasize the interconnectedness of issues such as welfare, political participation, and the right to a life free from discrimination based on gender, race, ethnicity, class, age, physical and mental ability, sexual orientation, and nationality.

WILD involves women and girls in an examination of their position in society and the recognition of power structures both here and abroad. By continually evaluating relevant experiences, women and girls learn to confront gender gaps related to decision-making and political power, while acknowledging that rights and leadership require responsibility.

Political and Social Action

Combining human rights education with conscious leadership empowers women and girls to take action locally, nationally and globally. By building collaborations across constituencies and issues, advocates organize more effectively to achieve social and political change with genuine impact.
